Beer Hops

What are Craft Beers?

The definition of a Craft Beer is: a beer made in a traditional or non-mechanized way by a small brewery.

At Timber Lodge, we love learning about new Craft Breweries and the innovative ways they produce great beers. One of our current favorites is Alaskan Brewing Company. They use water from the glaziers, recover all the Co2 from the brewing process to put into tanks, and run their steam boiler off the spent grain left over from the brewing process. Some pretty great ways to make some wonderful beers! Watch out for their Mocha Milk Stout coming on draft soon. We are also adding a Double Juicy IPA from Goose Island in Chicago to our draft selection. I was very lucky to have a great tour of the Goose Island Brewery in May and learned a lot about the research and development that goes into making their wide selection of beers.

While we might not have as many draft handles as some of the bigger restaurants, you can be sure that we’re always on the hunt for a great beer and something different for you to experience. Next time you’re at Timber Lodge, make sure you ask about our draft beers.
